Apprenticeship Programme 

Apprenticeship Programme

This is a great opportunity to become a highly trained yoga teacher with Noelle . The apprenticeship method takes your practice level, and your teaching ability, to heights not found in the usual 200 hour program. 
Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of one year yoga experience and be of sound physical and mental health.
•               Minimum of one years yoga experience.
•               Non-smokers only.
•               No drug or alcohol addiction.
 
Fee: R1,200p.m x 24 months

First year
 By the end of the first year, a minimum of 80 classes of personal practice must be completed with Noelle. During this first year the student must demonstrate their self motivation by attending group classes on a regular basis. The student should also display discipline in their home practice and they should be totally committed to a holistic yoga journey.
The nature of the small group classes at Noelle Yoga encourages the student to work closely with Noelle herself, thus allowing certain knowledge to be transmitted beyond the normal medium of words. During this period the student develops self awareness in body and mind, to advance in personal transformation.
 
Second year in the apprenticeship programme: 
 
Module 1: Yoga history and philosophy, Mudras, Nadis, Chakras, Bhandas, Pranayama techniques, and Meditation. 
Module 2: Fundamental Yoga Postures – key muscle activation and skeletal alignment in the relevant positions. Bandhas (energy gate) and Drishti (point of gaze/focus).
Module 3: Yin Yoga – introduction of Yin Yoga,  fascia release,  joint mobility and stability.
Module 4: Anatomy and Physiology specifically related to Yoga practice.
Module 5: Teaching methodology - focused on practical teaching skills including voice projection, body language, word choice, yoga posture names, hands-on adjustments, verbal adjustments, and non-verbal communication techniques. 
Module 6: Class time management and yoga posture sequencing. Individual teaching style development.
Seat of a Yoga Teacher: Notes on Philosophy, lifestyle and ethics.
Module 7: Assistant teacher in class and teaching small group mock classes. During this period Noelle will evaluate student’s teaching techniques and mentor the student to establish her/his own teaching style.
Module 8: Practicum: Six months of real time teaching for beginner’s classes, further review and mentoring by Noelle during this period. 
Module 9: Completion of the apprenticeship programme, student must pass the physical competencies test and a written yoga anatomy test. This module can be completed any time during or after Module 8.
Physical competencies test: student must able to complete Ashtanga Primary Series Practice on her/his own.  
Written anatomy and physiology test: student must get 90% on the written test to be certified by Noelle Yoga.
